Commercial Case Study

PORTOLA SENIOR LIVING - CARLSBAD, CA

Challenge

The senior living facility in Carlsbad was looking for ways to stabilize energy costs as well as free up budget that was being spent on electricity bills. Additionally, the facility’s large parking area was taking up valuable real estate at the coastal facility without providing benefit to the business or residents.

Solution

The San Diego multi-family solar system’s 13 new carport structures, containing the majority of the 741-solar panels, provided the ideal solution to turn the open parking lot into a power-generating asset. The construction of the carport structures provided the additional benefit of providing shaded parking for residents, visitors, and employees

Customer Benefit

The commercial solar arrays in the parking area provide 515,736 kilowatt hours of energy yearly to the units and to the facility. The lower and stabilized costs freed up budget for the services and activities that directly benefit the residents.
