Boochcraft Corporate Office: Seeing the Value of a Commercial Solar System in Chula Vista

Commercial Case Study

Boochcraft Corporate Office - Chula Vista, CA

Boochcraft’s corporate office was looking to save money on rising energy costs at their corporate office. The solar system would also serve as a way to power the office building with renewable energy before building a larger system for the Boochcraft Brewing location.

HES Renewables selected Silfab Solar SIL-490 HN panels as the most cost-effective modules. The design created a 119-panel array that will produce an estimated 94,493 kWh of solar power annually.

The system now stabilizes and lowers the energy costs at the Boochcraft home office; the estimated total electric bill savings over 25 years will total over $900,000. Through tax credit incentives (ITC, Federal Bonus Depreciation, and State MACRS Depreciation) the initial cost of the system was reduced and will result in a short 3.2 year Payback Period.

The energy cost savings from this commercial solar system installation validated solar’s benefits to Boochcraft and prompted the construction of a second system at the Boochcraft brewing site. That system will produce power over two rooftops and a carport solar system to use power from the sun to create Boochcraft’s popular hard kombucha.
