Anden set out to create the next level in luxury townhomes and wanted to provide amenities that were beneficial to active lifestyles and also provided purpose to the community. The first and most beneficial project to start with was a photovoltaic solar system, and for that HES Renewables was commissioned in the Fall of 2019 to design and build a series of Maxeon-manufactured solar panel arrays that would exceed Anden’s ambitious goals. The system was to become a main selling point to attract residents in a market where sustainability is more and more of a decision-influencing concern.
By Summer of 2020 the 1,886 panel system was energized and collecting renewable energy from the 24 separate building rooftop arrays. The solar arrays are composed of Maxeon-made E20-330-COM commercial solar panels. Maxeon modules boast a low degeneration rate and therefore ensure strong production for decades. Residents are able to enjoy the cost savings provided by the existing solar project without financial investment. This sustainability benefit is available to them immediately upon move-in.
Other tactics Anden incorporated to address their purposeful lifestyle choices mantra include EV chargers, a recycling initiative, and smart thermostats… But the HES Renewables system tops the amenities list. It seamlessly delivers renewable energy to each townhome unit.
The San Marcos commercial solar system’s final design delivers an estimated 1,142,417 kilowatt hours of power annually for the luxury living apartments. The system harnesses sunny San Diego County skies into energy cost savings. It also provides cost stabilization and allows energy cost savings for the complex management. The impressive solar system creates an option for non-owner residents to power their lifestyle with clean, green energy.
